As the sun rose gently in the morning sky, a single white wolf raised her head from her forepaws and yawned widely. Rump raised in the air, Kaleo stretched her legs and back, and yawned once again. She perked her tired auds forward and surveyed the area around her for any signs of other wolves. With nothing to be seen, heard, or scented, she gracefully lifted her sleek figure, padded silently to the edge of a beautiful clear body of water and began to lap at the surface. A rustle in the long grass caught her attention, and she spun her head around to investigate. The feeling of her fur being blown about made her suddenly realize that it had only been the wind. Her heart fell, for she was lonely. Her and her sister Ayame had begun to explore separately, and Kaleo now feared that they were growing apart in ways from not being together all of the time. A howl caught in her throat, beautiful and longing, and after a second of consideration, she threw back her maw and howled it to the skies, hoping that maybe someone, anyone, would hear her. [/size]

Kalaman lay tired and weary on a large smooth rock, gently warmed by the morning sun. He had been awake hunting for sevral hours, but was no longer entirely conscious. He gazed down at his reflection in the nearby lake, dimissing the morning's cruel bout with his messy fur. Suddenly, his ears perked and his eyes darted wildly as he heard the dim echo of a feminine howl. He rose to his paws, shook his head to wakefulness, and leapt off his rock. He had little idea where the distant howl had come from. He decided to stealthily circle the lake in search of this strange new femme. Kalaman came to the top of a small peak, to notice a young wolf at the bottom, primping and playing in the sun's gentle glow. He sat and observed silently, not sure of how to approach her.

Kaleo sat back on her haunches, scenting the air and listening carefully for any reply. She began to groom herself carefully, focusing mainly on her tail. As she turned to reach the base of her tail, she spotted a small coloured butterfly and chased after it, grinning. It evaded her, but that was alright, she hadn't truly intended to catch it in the first place. Kaleo panted slightly, long pink tongue lolling out of the side of her maw, and looked up at the butterfly getting away up the hill she was at the foot of and decided to chase after it a while longer. Mid way up the steep hill, Kaleo stooped and scented the air once more. The wind had changed, and was now coming down the hill, filling her nostrils with a glorious scent. There was another wolf at the peak of this hill, she could smell him. Yipping a few times with excitement, Kaleo raced up the hill to find out who this newcomer was. She reached the top and sat on her haunches in front of a darkly coloured wolf. "My name is Kaleo." She giggled quietly at the expression on his face, wagged her silky tail and patiently awaited his response.

Kalaman's ears twitched. This new female became more beautiful as she approached him. He stared at her bashfully without realizing she had now been sitting directly in front of him. She giggled and introduced herself as Kaleo. Kalaman's tail pummelled the ground loudly. "Uh hi. Oh, uh.. you're really pretty. I'm Kalaman." He couldn't help making a fool of himself, not even this once. Before suffering the embarrassment of hearing a reply, he nudged Kaleo's cheek with his nose and trotted into the long grass, doing a quick double take to see if she'd follow him.

The unknown wolf sat silently before her for a short time, as if he hadn't yet realized that she was in front of him. Once it had registered that she was there, he stumbled over his own tongue talking to her. "He must be delusional" she thought to herself, "He called me pretty." He introduced himself as Kalaman, a wonderful name that sounded a touch familiar. She was trying to figure out where she had heard the name before, when a cold, wet nose on her muzzle brought her out of her thoughts. She was slightly shocked for a moment, and she watched Kalaman get up and walk off into the long grass. She debated for a moment whether or not to follow him, and was rising to her paws when he shot her a look over his shoulder that was briefly punctuated by his bushy, wagging tail. She started after him slowly, wondering what he was playing at. Once in the longer grass, all she could see was his tail in front of her. Since he wasn't looking at her, and therefore couldn't see her nervous face, she decided to risk asking him the question on her mind. "What was that all about?" If she could have blushed, she would have, for she had no real experience in socializing with males. She had never known a brother nor a pack, and her Sire did not count as a "male" to her as Kalaman, remarkably, suddenly did.

To the sound of the rustling grass, Kalaman skipped and weaved through the tall blades around his new playmate. He felt his actions answered her question better than he ever could. She appeared slightly confused with him, not completely sure what to do. Falling into utter comfort almost instantly, Kalaman boldly snuck up on her and let out a playful yelp behind her. As the young fae swung her head around, she was instantly ponced upon, with that strangely familiar muzzle burrowing cozily in her silky white fur.
